Meet Yukiko Wu
I am a strategic HR leader and executive coach with over 25 years of experience architecting people-oriented frameworks for rapidly expanding organizations. Throughout my career, I have specialized in building mission-driven cultures from the ground up, moving beyond standard HR playbooks to create environments where high performance and personal fulfillment coexist.
In my recent executive roles - most notably as Chief People Officer for a VC-backed primary care startup and Head of People & Culture for Trellis Rx, a PE-backed specialty pharmacy services provider - I have focused on operationalizing comprehensive talent systems for organizations in high-growth cycles.
During my tenure at Trellis Rx, I was responsible for growing the workforce from 22 to over 230 employees across 20 states. By prioritizing authentic employee engagement and values-driven talent practices, we consistently achieved a 4.44 engagement score (on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the most engaged) with 93% survey participation. This commitment to a culture of radical transparency and organizational health was a key driver in the company’s successful acquisition, which delivered a 20x return to investors.
Today, as the founder of HERD Discovery Collective, I draw on this extensive history of growing and scaling healthcare organizations to support senior executives, emerging leaders, and individuals navigating their own professional evolutions.
My approach to advisory and coaching is intentionally different. I move away from rigid, traditional models, bringing a style that is creative, authentic, and current. I combine evidence-based methodologies with a human-centric perspective, helping both organizations and individuals discover a version of success that is sustainable, high-impact, and aligned with their core values.
I hold a degree in Psychology from Loyola University Maryland and bring significant expertise in organizational design, performance management, and workforce planning.
